How To: Be Realistic With Your Travel Plans: Travel Goals

Having travel goals is an important step in the pre-planning process for your next vacation. Here at Land On Travel, we aspire to help you reach these goals by not only planning the perfect trip with you, but by ensuring you can realistically attain them. We have had those who believe they can go to a destination (e.g.: Mexico) during peak season (e.g.: July) for a budget of under $800 per person including air fare, accommodations, and transportation, this is an unrealistic goal unless you want to deal with shady sites that tend to have many exclusions in their fine print. You would miss out on all the benefits of booking this option for a little more to ensure that each portion of the trip meets the expectations you may have.

By understanding that every destination has it’s own “peak season” and “off-season” and that prices are typically much higher during those peak seasons then in their off seasons will help to create a realistic travel goal. Many times we have heard, “I went to Cancun and stayed in a suite at an all-inclusive resort with airfare and only paid $800 a person!” This in fact could happen during an off-season, but most people tend to want to travel to these places during peak-season and jump out of their skin when they hear the cost.

We here encourage you to look at the areas you really want to travel to and determine if the time of year you want to travel will be the best “bang for your buck” or will it break the bank? Sometimes it’s best to wait to travel to these destinations until prices fit to your needs.Link to Travel Request Form
