Travel Insurance, Yes or No?

We are constantly being asked “Do I really need Travel Insurance?” Especially with what is currently going on with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The short answer is YES! We highly recommend getting travel insurance. If you are asking yourself this, then it is in your best interest to purchase travel insurance. When it comes to your travel, there is no better way to protect that investment. Travel insurance protects you financially in the event your trip gets canceled or interrupted. It can even reimburse you for stolen or lost luggage, missed or delayed flights, even evacuations in an emergency. Most travel insurance will reimburse you for these things via the method of payment you used, minus the cost of the insurance. Others will offer vouchers or credits.

There are a few different types of travel insurance/travel protection and each has their own benefits (These are just a couple of the options we recommend)

Penalty Waivers are just what they sound like. They offer protection from any penalties for canceling a trip, usually these are Cancel-For-Any-Reason.
All-In-One Protection provide you with a comprehensive protection plan including Cancellation, Medical Coverage, Lost/Stolen Baggage, and Trip Interruption, to name a few.

Not all travel insurance is created equal, so please be sure to read and that you understand what the policy covers. It is also important to check with your other insurance policies to see if they cover you while traveling outside of the U.S. as some health insurances do. In addition, some major credit cards and car insurances offer coverage while traveling.

Land On Travel believes that travel insurance is an important part of protecting your travel investment. Wouldn’t it be better to pay a little extra when booking a trip to protect you in the event of an issue, rather then to either forfeit thousands or have to pay extra to fix any problems that arise?
